Three people were arrested in connection with a burglary at the Manitowoc Marina.
Manitowoc Police were dispatched to the Marina on Maritime Drive at 10:15 Monday morning (October 13th) to investigate a report that numerous items were stolen.
An employee at the Marina told police that a man believed to be a suspect was locked in a bathroom, and that two people had been standing near the fish cleaning station with a wagon full of belongings earlier that morning.
The officer made contact with the 26-year-old man in the bathroom, who said he had slept in a truck on the property overnight.
He claimed to only be in possession of his and two other individuals’ personal property; however, a search revealed he was in possession of some items taken from inside the marina.
The items included a pair of binoculars and a digital camera.
The two other individuals were located at the Manitowoc Public Library, where they were in possession of a box cutter and a folding knife, which were also taken from the marina.
The suspects later admitted to entering the marina through an unlocked service door and taking several items.
All three, who admitted to being transients, were arrested on charges of Burglary to a Building.
