With budget season in full swing, the City of Sheboygan will be holding a public hearing on its proposal for 2026.
The City’s Committee of the Whole will meet today (October 14th) in Council Chambers at 6:00 p.m., with the 2026 budget being the only item on the agenda.
The evening will begin with the public hearing portion, allowing any interested parties to voice comments, questions, or concerns regarding the proposal.
Within the budget documents provided by City Finance Director Kaitlyn Krueger, taxes in Sheboygan have been proposed for a 3% increase, while the City plans on spending more than $4 million more than in 2025, or roughly a 9% increase.
Following the public hearing, the Common Council will likely vote to establish the 2026 budget appropriations and the 2025 Tax Levy for use during the calendar year.
