Manitowoc Lincoln Sophomore Natalie Portmann continues to rewrite Ships cross country record books in the 5K run.
Portmann, who just two weeks ago set a school record with a time of 19:18, smashed that by a whopping 28 seconds by running the race in a time of 18:50 at the Wisconsin Rapids Invitational this past Saturday.
She is the only girl in Manitowoc County to break the 19-minute barrier in that race this season.
The Ships as a team placed fourth out of 12 teams, with Norah Free joining Portmann as medalists in the meet.
In the boys’ race, Manitowoc Lincoln placed fifth out of 12 teams, led by medalists Lucas Gallegos and Reid Stryzewski.
