An inmate at a state mental health facility in Oshkosh has been sentenced for killing a fellow inmate.
Court documents show that 42-year-old Jumal Lipscomb was back in court on Friday (October 10th) for his sentencing hearing after being convicted of First-Degree Reckless Homicide in August.
On Friday, Lipscomb was ordered to serve an additional 25 years behind bars for the killing of an unnamed inmate at the Wisconsin Resource Center in Oshkosh last year.
At the time, the 42-year-old was serving a sentence at the Wisconsin Resource Center, a mental health facility for Wisconsin inmates, after being sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2018 because of a robbery case in Waukesha County.
According to a criminal complaint, Lipscomb attacked the victim abruptly by putting them in a chokehold before the person got away.
He then began kicking and punching the victim repeatedly until staff broke up the altercation.
The person went into a coma and later died at a hospital from injuries received at the hands of Lipscomb.
His 25-year sentence will be added on top of the 12-year sentence he was given for his previous conviction.
