One person is in custody after a fatal overdose investigation in Sheboygan.
While investigating the overdose, the Sheboygan Police Department and the Sheboygan County Multi-Jurisdictional Enforcement Group executed a search warrant in the 900 block of Michigan Avenue late last night (October 13th).
During the operation, law enforcement encountered resistance from the resident, a 48-year-old Sheboygan man.
The man then fled into the apartment, barricaded his door, and would not comply with authorities.
Sheboygan PD would activate the Emergency Response Team following hours of unsuccessful negotiations with the 48-year-old, and he would eventually be taken into custody without further incident.
The suspect was then transported to the Sheboygan County Jail and has had charges of Recklessly Endangering Safety, multiple counts of Delivery of Fentanyl, and Obstructing an Officer referred to the District Attorney’s Office.
Other agencies offering assistance during the incident included the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Sheboygan Fire Department, and Plymouth Police Department.
