After two months of significantly high numbers, the Port of Green Bay saw a return to average in September.
A total of 162,050 tons of product came through the port last month, which is down from the August total of 244,675 tons.
Port of Green Bay Director Dean Haen noted, “There will always be ebbs and flows month-to-month, but we’re pleased with the steady increase in tonnage totals as the season advances. Key commodities are moving at a healthy pace, and if current trends hold, we anticipate closing the season on par with recent years.”
Seven key commodities moved through the Port of Green Bay in September, including limestone (61,532 tons), cement (38,802 tons), petroleum products (24,329 tons), salt (16,437 tons), coal (16,347 tons) and armourstone (4,603 tons).
Also, 19 vessels visited the Port in September, bringing the year-to-date total to 96. In 2024, an average of 141,341 tons came through each month, and this year, that average is at 107,093.
