The City of Two Rivers fire department tells residents to follow city laws when having any outdoor fire.
This comes after the department was called to the 2000 block of School Street last Friday (October 10th) just before 6:00 a.m. and found a large out-of-control brushfire at the back of the property.
The fire was reaching out beyond the area where it started and could’ve affected other residences in the area.
This was a rekindling of a fire extinguished earlier in the day.
Two Rivers firefighters were able to put out the blaze before it could cause any major damage or hurt anybody.
Fire Chief Dave Murack says this fire serves as a reminder that all recreational campfires, fire pits, and grilling need to be done by the rules of the city’s ordinances, as this fire posed a risk to property and people.
Questions about having a fire in the city or questions about outdoor burning can be directed to the city’s fire department.
