The Oshkosh Police Department investigated numerous weapons complaints during the “unsanctioned” bi-annual Pub Crawl.
The department says Pub Crawl results in an increase in house parties throughout the area, and police received numerous calls throughout the day.
At 11:10 p.m. Saturday (October 11th), officers were dispatched to the area of Scott Avenue and Cherry Street after getting multiple reports of several men brandishing firearms and pointing them at people in the area.
Upon arrival, officers found one of the suspects and attempted to talk with him.
However, he began resisting and reached for something in his pants.
While being taken to the ground and arrested, a loaded handgun was found underneath the suspect’s body.
The man was identified as a 17-year-old from Neenah.
Another large disturbance also took place in the area, which led to an officer being knocked to the ground and sustaining a head injury.
That officer was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lastly, a Wisconsin State Trooper noticed a suspect involved in a battery in the 800 block of Scott Avenue and attempted to talk to the person.
The man fled on foot and during the pursuit, the trooper noticed that suspect had a handgun.
The person was later arrested and identified as a 20-year-old from Ripon.
During the foot pursuit, the suspect allegedly dropped a black and gray backpack.
Oshkosh Police are asking residents in the 700 to 800 block of Woodland, Scott, and Prospect Avenues to try and find the bag.
Anyone with information about the incidents can call Oshkosh Police at 920-236-5700 or Winnebago County Crime Stoppers at 920-231-8477.
