Two Northeastern Wisconsin libraries were well represented in this year’s Wisconsin Library Association (WLA) awards and honors.
The WLA has announced that the Appleton Public Library has been named the 2025 Library of the Year in the state of Wisconsin.
Additionally, they shared that Alison Loewen, a youth services librarian at Sheboygan’s Mead Public Library, has been named the state’s Librarian of the Year for 2025.
This award for the Appleton Public Library comes after a major renovation project last year that made this recognition possible.
Loewen will be honored locally at this week’s Mead Public Library Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, October 15th.
However, both award winners and all other honorees will be recognized at the WLA Annual Conference taking place in Madison on October 30th.
