
The Manitowoc Lincoln Ships overcame five turnovers and numerous penalties to rally in the fourth quarter and defeat Green Bay East by the score of 20 to 12 Saturday afternoon at Rubick Field in Manitowoc.
The Ships trailed 12 to 7 in the fourth quarter and took the lead on a Jaquan Foth 11-yard touchdown run. The try for two was no good, and the Ships led 13 to 12.
Green Bay East had a chance to take the lead with a little over two minutes to play, but the Ships’ Thor Ash blocked a 34-yard field goal attempt by Rowan Allen, which Roman Zak returned for a 65-yard touchdown that gave Manitowoc Lincoln a 20 to 12 lead.
The Red Devils had one more chance to tie the game, but Colton Thorison sacked Brady Anderson on fourth and 20, and The Ships took three kneel downs to end the game.
Foth wound up with 24 carries for 134 yards and a touchdown, while The Redevil scores came on two long touchdown passes by quarterback Quincy Shields.
One was for 91 yards to Demarion Brown in the first quarter, and the other was in the third quarter for 81 yards to Abrian Allen.
The Ships improve to 1 and 5 in The FRCC and 1 and 7 overall, while Green Bay East slips to 2 and 4 in The FRCC and 2 and 6 overall.
Manitowoc Lincoln wraps up the regular season Friday night at Sheboygan South, while Green Bay East plays its final regular-season game Friday night at Green Bay West.
