Seniors Taylor Peterson and Jordin Popp of Manitowoc Lincoln and senior Megan Lamers of Roncalli/ Two Rivers are all returning to the WIAA State Girls Individual Tennis Tournament in Madison next week.
Peterson and Popp punched their ticket by defeating a team from Beaver Dam 6-3 and 6-0 in a Division One Sectional in Appleton.
This means that Peterson has qualified for state all four years of her career, while Popp has qualified for state three consecutive years, the first two competing in singles.
In the semifinals, they defeated a duo from Hartford 6-0 and 6-0. They’ll play for a sectional title and likely a high seed at state.
Meanwhile, Megan Lamers punched her second straight trip to Madison by defeating Brealyn Schelinger of Slinger 6-2, 6-4 in an opening round singles match.
She qualified last year in doubles with her sister, Madison, who has since graduated.
Megan is scheduled to play an opponent from Neenah in the semifinals this afternoon for a berth in the finals.
The WIAA State Tournament begins next Thursday in Madison.
