A bill aimed at protecting emotional support and service animals has passed in the state Assembly.
The measure was written by Representative Paul Tittl and makes several reforms to the process of obtaining an emotional support animal.
Specifically, the bill redefines “service animal”, provides businesses with resources to address emotional support/service animals, and provides penalties for misrepresentation.
Rep. Tittl tells SeehaferNews.com, “This bill lifts up legitimate emotional support/service animals and their owners. Passage of the legislation is a step in the right direction to fix misrepresentation.”
The Assembly passed the bill on a voice vote, and it will now be taken up in the Senate.
