A Reedsville runner who has been on the verge of being the fastest runner in Manitowoc County has finally broken through.
Panther Senior Allena O’Connell has been in the top 10 among all female cross country runners in the county all season long, reaching as high as second place twice.
However, in the Week 7 Cross Country Honor Roll, she has reached the elusive #1 spot, beating out Kiel Senior Addison Vogel by only 2 seconds.
The top spot on the guys’ side continues to be held by Roncalli Junior Elliot Onesti, who has held the position for the entire season.
Last week, he beat out Kiel Senior Sam Keuler by 21 seconds.
However, there is a new fastest freshman, as Evan Dell of Mishicot took the top spot from teammate Levi Eells, who held the spot all season long as well. Fellow Indian Greyson Armbruster also took the top spot in the Sophomore list.
As for the girls, Manitowoc Lincoln’s Natalie Portmann outpaced her classmates, while teammate Charlie Drossart was the fastest freshman, and Mishicot’s Juliana Doerner bested the sophomore class.
