The Kiel Fire Department is recognizing some of their own for completing an annual event that recognizes those who passed away on 9/11.
Firefighters Jack Kraemer, Montana Mattie, and Mike Mattie participated in the Pierce 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Lambeau Field on September 20th.
The event honors the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty on September 11th, 2001, and supports the ongoing mission of the National Fallen Firefighters Association.
Kraemer, Montana, and Mike each climbed the equivalent of 110 stories, which is the height of the World Trade Center, to pay tribute to the fallen heroes on that fateful day.
The Kiel Fire Department extended its sincere appreciation to those representing them in Green Bay, “with professionalism and respect, and to all who continue to ensure that the memory of the fallen is never forgotten.”
The date of the 2026 Memorial Stair Climb is still being determined.
