Charges have been formally filed against the teenager behind the wheel during a fatal car accident in Appleton.
Court documents show that 18-year-old Carter J Green of Larsen, Wisconsin, made his initial appearance in an Outagamie County courtroom yesterday.
Green has officially been charged with one count of First-Degree Reckless Homicide and two counts of Causing Injury while Operating under the Influence. He was also given a cash bond of $100,000.
This comes after a car accident that took place in the early morning hours on Saturday (October 4th), where alcohol, high speeds, and blowing a stop light all played a factor.
FOX11 reports that Green was traveling at speeds ranging from 130 MPH to 143 MPH and had a BAC of .178, more than twice the legal limit, when his vehicle collided with another at the intersection of Richmond Street and the Interstate 41 northbound off ramp.
The occupants of the other vehicle were both found unconscious in the front seats and needed to be extricated from the wreckage.
Both were transported for medical treatment; however, the vehicle’s driver would later die.
At this time, a preliminary hearing for Green has yet to be scheduled.
