Two of Wisconsin’s representatives in Washington D.C., voiced their support of Israel two years after the Hamas attack on the country.
On October 7th, 2023, over 1,200 innocent men, women, and children died in an attack, which was the deadliest assault on the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
Congressman Glenn Grothman of Glenbeulah said the attack was “a stark reminder that antisemitism and terrorism remain powerful threats that must never be ignored or excused.”
He added, “The United States must stand with Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East, and reject terrorism wherever it appears. President Trump’s leadership and plan to end this war and bring every hostage home gives hope for lasting peace and security.”
Senator Ron Johnson agreed, saying, “The October 7th attacks demonstrated Hamas’ hatred of the Jewish people and its indifference to the fate of its own people. As we remember the terrible evil of that day, we must be resolute in demanding that Hamas be fully dismantled and play no role in the region moving forward.”
Sen. Johnson was joined by fellow Senators Joni Ernst and John Fetterman in a bipartisan resolution condemning the attack, a resolution supported by many others on Capitol Hill.
