Wisconsin State and Federal lawmakers are being recognized by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) for their contributions to the industry.
They include 3rd District Congressman Derrick Van Orden, Senator Tammy Baldwin, and Governor Tony Evers.
Van Orden has been thanked by the WCMA for his leadership and federal funding for the Dairy Business Innovation (DBI) initiatives, as well as for co-authoring the DAIRY PRIDE Act, which helps fight for accuracy in food labeling.
Baldwin was also honored for initially establishing funding for the DBI initiatives in the 2018 Farm Bill, which provides technical assistance and grants to dairy farmers and processors.
She was also thanked for introducing the Dairy Business Innovation Act of 2025, which would provide an additional $36 million for dairy projects.
The WCMA also thanked Evers for putting money in the 2025-2027 state budget for the Agricultural Road Improvement Program, the Dairy Processor Grant program, and the Wisconsin for Agricultural Exports hub.
Other state senators and representatives from the Wisconsin State Legislature were also thanked for their efforts in helping the dairy industry.
