More food products sold in Wisconsin have been recalled due to the presence of a foreign contaminant.
The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced that Foster Poultry Farms out of California has recalled more than 3.8 million pounds of chicken corn dog products due to pieces of wood being found in the batter.
The Foster Farms-branded products were produced between July 30th and August 4th and will display an establishment number of P-6137B.
The chicken corn dog items were shipped to and sold at retail locations nationwide.
They were also distributed to various school districts across the country.
This issue was discovered after the FSIS received numerous customer complaints, five of which resulted in injury from consuming the products containing wood in the batter.
This recall comes one week after 58 million pounds of Jimmy Dean and State Fair products were recalled for the same presence of foreign materials, specifically wood.
The FSIS fears that consumers may have the recalled Foster Farms products in their freezers.
Anyone in possession of these products is encouraged to return them to their place of purchase for a full refund.
Product labels of the affected items can be found at fsis.usda.gov.
