A fight at Manitowoc’s Lakefront Park started over a dispute about meth.
Manitowoc Police were contacted by a man at 3:45 this morning (October 6th) who reported being beaten up by two people at the park.
The alleged victim reported meeting one of the suspects at the park and ride on Frontage Road and invited him to ride with him to Lower Henry Schuette Park.
Once they arrived, a second vehicle arrived, which is when the suspect began punching the victim before leaving the scene.
The two met up again at Lakefront Park to fight, where the suspect again punched the man multiple times and choked him unconscious. The suspect was located and arrested.
During his interview, the 18-year-old man said that the initial assault occurred because the victim brought up methamphetamine multiple times, which the suspect wanted nothing to do with.
The suspect claimed the victim came at him first with punches, and he responded with punches of his own, and was able to wrap his arm around the victim’s neck, causing him to pass out.
The suspect was taken to the Manitowoc County jail on charges of Battery and Strangulation.
