Congressman Glenn Grothman has picked his horse in the gubernatorial race.
The 6th District Congressman has officially endorsed Tom Tiffany to be the 47th governor of the state of Wisconsin.
Rep. Grothman said in the announcement, “I have known Tom Tiffany for 16 years, all of which he has been a great champion for Wisconsin. Some people claim to be conservative but will buckle under pressure to special interests, not Tom Tiffany. He got this way by growing up as a farm boy in Dunn County and owning an excursion boat business near Minocqua.”
Tiffany will first have to win a primary election in August against fellow Republicans Josh Schoemann and Andy Manske.
He will then face one of a slew of Democrats who have also thrown their proverbial hats into the ring.
They include David Crowley, Sara Rodriguez, Missy Hughes, Francesca Hong, Kelda Roys, Zachary Roper, Ryan Strnad, and Tim Jacobson, while Mike Kohn and Crystal Harper have filed nomination paperwork as Independent.
More people may submit paperwork ahead of the June 1st deadline.
