The man charged in the fatal shooting in Downtown Sheboygan Falls last month is due in court.
35-year-old Luis E. Cruz Burgos will be back in a Sheboygan County courtroom today (October 6th) for a status conference.
Cruz Burgos is facing one count of First-Degree Reckless Homicide in the September 24th killing of 32-year-old Canadian, Giovanni Michael Robinson.
Last week, the 35-year-old was given a $2 million cash bail upon request from the Sheboygan County District Attorney Joel Urmanski.
Cruz Burgos was arrested on September 26th as a result of a search warrant that was executed at his home in the City of Sheboygan.
A criminal complaint explains that Cruz Burgos, who works as a DoorDash driver, was completing a delivery in Sheboygan Falls when he was approached by Robinson and three other individuals who were attempting to find a ride back to their hotel in the Village of Kohler.
The two sides could not agree on the terms of payment for a ride back, and the parties went their separate ways.
It is alleged that Cruz Burgos later made a U-turn after driving away and fired a single shot at the group, striking Robinson in the chest.
Life-saving measures were rendered; however, he would later be pronounced dead on the scene.
