Authorities in Sheboygan are showing their support for survivors of domestic violence.
October is nationally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Sheboygan Police Department’s division of Victim Services is doing its part to stand with and help those who have experienced domestic violence.
They have ensured that survivors deserve safety, support, and solidarity.
This safety encompasses physical, emotional, and financial support to live and work in spaces free of violence.
The support they give to survivors does not expire but continues through all stages of their lives, as healing from the trauma endured can be a lifelong journey.
When discussing what showing solidarity with domestic violence survivors means, Sheboygan PD Victim Services said, “Nobody should have to stand alone in the face of hardship. Community connectedness is critical to effective advocacy. We must continue to show up for survivors, no matter what.”
