Freeze-dried strawberry products have been recalled after being found to contain metal fragments.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that numerous Tru Fru-branded varieties of frozen strawberries are subject to the recall after a customer alerted the company of the issue.
This recall includes 1.7-, 3.4-, and 13-ounce packages of dark and white chocolate freeze-dried strawberries, along with 3.4-ounce packages of the strawberries and crème variety.
The FDA has confirmed that these items were shipped nationwide and sold at prominent retailers in Wisconsin, such as Target, Kroger-affiliated stores, CVS, and others.
At this time, no injuries have been reported related to the potential presence of metal fragments in the products; however, consumers are urged to throw them out or return them to their place of purchase.
Currently, Tru Fru is working with retailers to remove the recalled items from store shelves across the country.
