A park in Two Rivers will be getting grant funding from the Wisconsin DNR.
The Two Rivers Parks and Recreation Department says that the Wisconsin DNR has notified them that they’ve been tentatively selected for a $324,500 grant to make updates to Riverside Park in 2025.
The total project cost for Phase 1 of the park improvements is $649,000, meaning the city will have to invest the same amount of money to complete the first phase.
The construction will include a new restroom building, reconfigured pathways, an ADA-compliant kayak launch, a new boat ramp, a fishing overlook deck, and additional amenities.
All the improvements were included in the city’s master plan for Riverside Park, which got extensive feedback from the community.
Phase Two of the project will consist of a new skatepark, accompanied by a community fundraising campaign to cover the associated costs.
There will also be community planning meetings coming up to talk about the skatepark’s design.
