Ridglan Farms is now facing legal action after declining to settle a $55,000 civil forfeiture tied to over 300 animal welfare violations.
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture confirmed Friday it will refer the case to the Dane County District Attorney’s Office.
Violations included unsafe enclosures and inadequate records.
The breeder has drawn criticism from legislators and animal rights groups since inspection details became public.
