The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension wants to help farmers learn more about agricultural leasing.
A land lease workshop will be held in Manitowoc on October 21st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Manitowoc County Office Complex, located on Expo Drive, Room 300.
The seminars are designed to address questions that landowners, tenants, or other interested individuals may have about leasing farmland, including setting a rental rate, legal risks associated with leases, terminating an agricultural lease, and other relevant topics.
Manitowoc County Farm Law Outreach Specialist Kelly Wilfert says, “Every agreement is unique, and attending a workshop is a great way to learn more or ask questions on specific aspects of farm lease arrangements.”
Registration is required for the event, and the cost is $25 per person. The website to register can be found at uwmadison.eventsair.com.
Other workshops will be held throughout Wisconsin, including in Chippewa Falls, Wausau, and Dodgeville.
