The man who blamed ‘devil music’ for nearly hitting pedestrians with his car in Manitowoc has entered his plea.
Court records show that 51-year-old Mattew R. Korth was present inside a Manitowoc County courtroom yesterday (September 25th) for his arraignment after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing.
Korth has been charged with Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Disorderly Conduct, and Carrying a Concealed Knife for the incident that took place outside PetSkull Brewing on September 13th, following a metal music festival.
At yesterday’s hearing, Korth plead not guilty to all three charges he faces, and Judge Anthony Lambrecht had him bound over for trial.
The 51-year-old was arrested by Manitowoc Police after driving erratically in the 1700 block of Washington Street.
He then began yelling about ‘devil music’ that was being played at PetSkull Brewing.
He admitted to being parked near the barricades by the concert and made a U-turn after seeing someone make the devil horns with his hands.
Subsequently, he drove up the sidewalk towards the individuals, nearly hitting them before veering away.
Korth will return to a Manitowoc County courtroom on Monday (September 29th) for a bail and bond hearing at 11:45 a.m.
