Veterans of the Global War on Terrorism are being honored with a retreat focused on healing.
The non-profit Missions of Honor, based in Appleton, has announced its third annual Freedom to Liberty: A Mission of Healing retreat, which will work in a similar fashion to Old Glory Honor Flights.
The trip will not cost the veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, as well as others who served elsewhere in the Middle East, as they take a trip to New York City to visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, the “Freedom Tower”, and the Statue of Liberty.
The retreat is scheduled for October 2nd through the 5th, with the flight taking off and landing at the Appleton International Airport.
All are welcome to participate in the welcome home celebration on October 5th, with the doors opening at 11:30 a.m.
There will be a short presentation, snacks, music, and more.
