The biggest community service day of the year for the United Way has arrived.
Today marks the United Way of Sheboygan County’s Day of Caring, which will have over 1,000 volunteers out in the community giving back, raising money, and helping their neighbors.
In addition to being a day to help those in need throughout Sheboygan County, it will also serve as the kickoff for the United Way’s annual fundraising campaign.
When explaining why they begin the campaign with such a big undertaking, the United Way of Sheboygan County said, “By starting the day with action, we ignite the energy, generosity, and momentum that fuels our work throughout the year. Every act of service and every dollar raised helps power programs that strengthen Sheboygan County.”
Last year’s Day of Caring was another massive success, featuring 1,100 volunteers from 24 companies, who combined to put in more than 4,500 hours of service, while creating more than $144,000 in local economic impact.
