The Palmyra Police Department is considering a partnership with federal immigration authorities through the Task Force Model program.
If approved, the agreement would authorize local officers to question individuals about their immigration status.
Police Chief Paul Blount says the department would focus only on those involved in criminal activity.
Should the proposal move forward, it will be presented to the village board for final approval.
