A Pewaukee man wanted in connection with the deaths of his daughters has been declared deceased by federal prosecutors.
Human remains discovered last week near Leavenworth, Washington, are believed to belong to Travis Decker.
However, DNA confirmation is still pending.
Despite the lack of official identification, a court motion to drop charges against Decker cites the U.S. Marshals Service as confirming his death.
However, a spokesperson says the declaration may have been premature.
