The Manitowoc Unit of Manitowoc County Fish and Game is again offering assistance for local hunting, fishing, conservation, and related educational groups.
Applications are now open for the FORWARD Endowment, which stands for Friends Of Resources, Wildlife, and Recreational Development, which must be submitted by December 31st.
Starting last year, the trust was completely redesigned to a new unitrust format, which gives the unit more flexibility in funding some larger projects with the same goal of benefiting the community and tied to hunting, fishing, and conservation.
The actual selection of grant funding will be made at the Gift Committee’s meeting in February or March 2026.
Leede Research is again coordinating the gifting process and aiding in filling the grant request material.

The FORWARD Endowment has provided over $180,000 in grant-awarded projects and groups in Manitowoc County.
