
A man in Oshkosh is facing drug charges after the Oshkosh Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested him near a school.
Oshkosh Police searched a residence in the 1500 block of Doemel Street and conducted a search of the neighborhood for a wanted fugitive who had fled on foot from the residence.
The residence was in a neighborhood that includes Emmeline Cook Elementary School.
School staff were notified of the search for the wanted suspect.
Multiple people reported seeing the 36-year-old man in the area, which led officers to locate and arrest him.
The suspect was later found exiting a backyard on Murdock Avenue and Hazel Street.
During a search of the residence, 43 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located.
The 36-year-old was taken to the Winnebago County jail and is charged with Possession with Intent to deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a Drug Trafficking Dwelling, and other drug offenses.
Oshkosh Police say the department continues to work diligently to investigate the presence of illegal drugs and drug dealers, who pose a threat to the health, safety, and well-being of residents.
