
The Manitowoc Police Department has officially confirmed what happened this morning.
As we previously reported, Manitowoc Police were dispatched to a shots-fired call at 1:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Dewey Street.
The disturbance was between two male subjects, where one of the two men was struck.
He was then transported via a private vehicle to the 1200 block of South 17th Street, where the officers began life-saving measures.
However, the man, whose name and age were not given, died at the scene.
The suspect remained at the Dewey Street location, where he was taken into custody and is being held in the Manitowoc County Jail.
Charges will be coming in the near future.
Assisting the Manitowoc Police Department were the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, Joint Dispatch, Manitowoc Fire Rescue, and the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations.
