The Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) has announced grant funding for 35 statewide projects in honor of Coastal Awareness Month.
Some of the $1.3 million will be used to protect and improve the Great Lakes’ resources and build resilience in coastal communities, including in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties.
Two Rivers is getting $30,000 to construct a new concrete boat launch and dock, install water trail signage, and enhance fishing access at Paddlers Park.
The Sheboygan County Planning and Conservation Department is also getting $30,000 to complete design plans and specifications for a boardwalk/bridge in the 14,000-acre Sheboygan Marsh.
Funding from the DOA is also being allocated to Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Marinette, and Oconto Counties in the Bay-Lake Region.
DOA Secretary Kathy Bluemenfeld says they see incredible partnerships and collaborations with intergovernmental and private sector groups every year, and thanked Governor Evers for his continued support of coastal communities.
