The two suspects indicted in the death of Elijah Vue will be returning to court later this week.
The cases against 40-year-old Jesse Vang and 32-year-old Katrina Baur will be brought back up in court on Friday (September 26th) in the Branch 4 Manitowoc County Courtroom.
Both are facing charges related to Vue’s death, including Vang charged with physical assault of a child causing death, hiding a corpse, resisting or obstructing an officer, and chronic child neglect.
Baur has been charged with chronic neglect of a child, the consequence is death, neglecting a child, and two counts of resisting or obstructing a police officer.
A criminal complaint alleges that Elijah was reported missing by Vang on February 20th last year.
However, in September, it was announced by Two Rivers Police that Vue’s remains were found in the Town of Two Rivers.
The complaint continues to say that Vang was teaching Elijah “how to be a man”, which included him standing and praying for hours at a time.
Food was also reportedly withheld from the 3-year-old as a punishment, as well as a threat of cold showers.
Vue’s death has been determined by the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation as a homicide by unspecified means.
