
Plans for a $1.6 billion data center in Menomonie have officially been canceled.
The project, which was expected to generate up to 1,000 construction jobs and 50 to 75 permanent positions, faced community concerns.
These concerns were over potential water usage, noise, and light pollution.
At a city council meeting last night, Mayor Randy Knaack announced that the city will no longer move forward with the development.
