A Green Bay resident has been displaced after an early morning fire.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department was called to the 800 block of School Place at approximately 12:15 a.m. yesterday (September 22nd) on a report of a structure fire.
Arriving fire crews found the front porch of a home completely engulfed in flames, with the fire starting to spread into the main living area of the home.
A defensive attack was initiated by firefighters, preventing further spread in the house and to other surrounding structures.
Once the initial fire was suppressed, they made their way into the home to fully extinguish the blaze as it had spread through the ceiling into the attic.
As a result of the fire, one firefighter was injured and transported to a hospital; however, they have since been released.
While the resident of the home was uninjured, they have been displaced and are staying with family.
At this time, no cause of fire has been provided, and it is estimated to have resulted in approximately $100,000 in damage.
Other agencies aiding in the fire response included the Green Bay Police Department and Brown County Public Safety Communications.
