The Two Rivers Police Department union has gotten a new contract with the city.
The agreement with the police union is projected to increase patrol wages in 2026 by 3.08% for officers.
It will allow the department to be competitive with comparable departments around the state.
City Manager Kyle Kordell explains that for residents, it means that the police force is well supported, compensated, and focused on the job of keeping neighborhoods safe.
To the union, their focus on the new deal was to also offer officers the tools and flexibility they need to serve effectively while keeping city finances on solid ground.
Officers will have more scheduling options for required health and wellness checks, which will make it easier to stay fit for duty.
