A Manitowoc woman has been arrested for allegedly poisoning someone’s salad.
Detective Schultz was attached to the case on August 25th, which is when he learned of a phone call between the 31-year-old suspect and the unidentified victim.
Detective Schultz attempted to speak with the suspect on September 3rd, but she requested an attorney first.
In the meantime, Detective Schultz reviewed the audio recording of the phone call, during which the suspect made statements such as “I really didn’t want you to die,” and “I *expletive* up and I never should have done that.”
It was learned through the recording that the suspect had put drugs, potentially including insulin and sleeping drugs, onto the victim’s salad, causing them to be taken to a local hospital.
The suspect then went to the hospital to check up on the victim, but ultimately left to meet up with another man.
The suspect also admitted to planning the drugging with that other man, whom she said “wanted (the victim) dead.”
Detective Schultz located the alleged co-conspirator, who denied ever talking to the suspect about the drugging, and agreed to testify in court as such.
The man also noted that the suspect told him that she would be taking money and items from the victim’s trailer after they were gone.
The suspect was arrested on charges of Placing Foreign Object in Edibles and Administering Dangerous or Stupefying Drugs.
She also has an open case where she is facing charges of Endangering Safety with Use of a Dangerous Weapon, and Disorderly Conduct, each with Domestic Abuse enhancers, as well as Theft of Movable Property Over $2,500.
