A child in Elkhorn has been arrested after allegedly stealing a firearm from a locked bedroom.
Police say the incident was reported by a parent on Friday.
The child was taken into custody later that day, and the gun was recovered.
Authorities say the child is being referred to juvenile court for armed burglary, illegal possession of a firearm by a minor, and obstructing police.
The case remains under investigation.
