A group focused on curbing human trafficking in Sheboygan County is saying goodbye to a retiring detective.
The Sheboygan County Human Trafficking Task Force has shared that Detective Scott Wieland was a part of his final Task Force meeting on Tuesday (September 16th).
Wieland, a Detective with the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, will soon be retiring after serving the community for 25 years.
Detective Wieland has been a part of the Task Force for many years and is said to have made a significant difference in the county during that time.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the Task Force presented Wieland with a commemorative plaque and a card with personalized notes from his fellow members thanking him for his contributions.
In his parting words to his colleagues, he simply said, “Remain victim-focused and that will serve you well.”
In a post online, the City of Sheboygan also congratulated Wieland on his upcoming retirement and thanked him for his years of service to the community.
