A Captain with the Manitowoc Police Department is being honored by State Representative Paul Tittl.
The 25th District Assemblyman has named Captain Cooper Schmidt as the District First Responder of the year.
Rep. Tittl specifically pointed to all the work Captain Schmidt has done in the realm of illegal drug usage, noting that he “spends time off duty to help put drug users on a path of sobriety.”
Captain Schmidt is also an unwavering supporter of Lighthouse Recovery Center and serves on the Manitowoc County Drug Court.
He was nominated by Manitowoc Police Chief Nick Reimer.
