A Kaukauna man will be spending time in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine in the Fox Valley area.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice says Federal Judge William Greisbach sentenced 58-year-old John Sloan to 12.5 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute meth.
Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin Richard Frohling explained that during an investigation, law enforcement seized more than seven pounds of methamphetamine and over $140,000 in cash.
Three handguns and a shotgun, plus a 2016 Dodge Challenger, were also seized.
Court records show that Sloan admitted to selling more than 20 pounds of the drug and was under state supervision for a previous meth conviction and had over 40 previous criminal convictions dating back to 1985.
He obtained large quantities of meth from a source in California. Sloan will have to forfeit the $140,000 in contraband as well as all four firearms and the vehicle.
