A Milwaukee-based artist will have their work featured on the campus of Lakeland University.
Lakeland’s 2025-26 Bradley Gallery series will open with the work of artist Ellen C. Raines.
To kick off the year and exhibition, the university will hold an opening ceremony tomorrow (September 19th) at the Bradley Gallery from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
During her time as an animation student at Milwaukee Area Technical College, the animation department began developing a way to merge its program with UW-Milwaukee’s film program.
Raines, who was also attending UW-Milwaukee at the same time as a film student, had her work selected as a blueprint for others looking to find a four-year degree in the field.
Since then, she has created over 100 play-on-word art pieces and has won awards for her animation and short films in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, and Honolulu.
After the opening ceremony, Raines’ work can be viewed at the Bradley Gallery from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, until October 24th.
