The trial for the man charged with killing two while behind the wheel of a car in Brown County may be delayed.
Court records show that the legal counsel for 24-year-old Kelton Snulligan, who is scheduled for a five-day jury trial later this month, has made a motion to adjourn the trial.
Snulligan is facing 16 charges, 11 of which are felony offenses, including two counts of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle stemming from the fatal crash that occurred in July of 2023 in Allouez.
However, FOX11 reports that a 31-minute video of dash cam and body cam footage from the night of the crash that killed two has been released online.
Snulligan’s lawyers are unaware of how these videos were released and stated they now have over 2 million views online.
For this reason, they believe picking a jury for the upcoming trial has now been complicated and must be postponed.
On the night of the crash, the 24-year-old was driving at speeds over 100 MPH on Webster Avenue in Allouez.
Near the 2200 block of Webster, Snulligan’s vehicle struck another car. The impact killed the driver of the other car, Luis Rios-Alvarado, and Snulligan’s passenger, Trevor Hermon, while four others, including Snulligan, were also injured.
After the crash, Snulligan was confirmed to have a BAC of .097.
The 24-year-old will return to court on Friday (September 17th) when this matter will be discussed further.
