
The Wisconsin National Guard has honored a Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Deputy.
Deputy Eddie Wick was given the National Guard’s 1st Lt. Thomas E. Wortham IV Achievement Award for exemplifying the Citizen-Soldier ideal through selfless military service and servant leadership in his community.
Wick is a seven-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and a dedicated member of the Wisconsin Air National Guard.
He’s also a field training officer and instructor in numerous classes, including OWI, Civilian Response to Active Shooter training, and CPR and Stop the Bleeding, among others.
Eddie also volunteers with the local Public Safety Cadet Program, where he mentors and inspires the next generation of public safety professionals.
Lieutenant Thomas Wortham IV was a combat veteran and a Chicago Police Officer who was deeply involved in his community and the department.
He was tragically killed in 2010 while fighting off an armed robbery suspect.
