The man who claimed “devil music” caused him to nearly run over some pedestrians remains in the Manitowoc County Jail.
51-year-old Matthew R. Korth was given a $10,000 cash bail by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa on charges of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Disorderly Conduct, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
Korth was parked near PetSkull Brewing during a metal music festival when he told police he saw a pedestrian put up the “devil horns” with his hands.
He admitted to then making a U-turn and driving up on the sidewalk towards the pedestrians and nearly hitting them with his vehicle before veering away.
As a part of his bail, Korth was ordered to have no contact with the victims, to not operate any motor vehicle, to maintain absolute sobriety, and to not possess any dangerous weapons.
He is due back in court on September 22nd for his initial appearance in Branch 4.
