
In an effort to pick up their third straight victory, Manitowoc Lincoln’s girls’ tennis team was outmatched by Notre Dame.
In the meet yesterday (September 11th), the host Tritons defeated the Ships 5-2.
In singles action, Lincoln’s number one, Sophia Levihn, and number two, Hannah Brown, would each fall in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
The Ship’s number three singles player, Aurora Jones, was also defeated 6-1, 6-0; however, Maddie Black, the number four singles player, picked up the win thanks to 6-2, 6-3 set wins.
In doubles play, Manitowoc Lincoln’s number one duo of Jordin Popp and Taylor Peterson have continued their blistering start and improved to 10-0 on the season and 4-0 in conference after another straight sets victory.
Cadence Fischer and Julia Jagemann, the number two doubles team, would also fall 6-0, 6-0, and three doubles, Breleigh Kowalski and Elighana Camacho fared a bit better in defeat, losing 6-0, 6-1.
Lincoln’s girls’ tennis team will next be in action tomorrow when they host a varsity invitational meet against Fox Valley Lutheran, Grafton, Kaukauna, Marshfield, Plymouth, and Shawano Community.
