A La Crosse County supervisor is facing backlash for a Facebook post made after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed this week at Utah Valley University.
District 19 Supervisor Rick Cornforth wrote, in part, “I hope it was a woman… and she said ‘I’ll get back in the kitchen right after this.’”
When criticized, Cornforth issued a statement saying the post was being taken out of context, adding that the incident highlights the seriousness of gun violence and the need for stronger gun laws.
